Bruton Parish Church Graveyard

Yesterday, I visited the Bruton Parish Church graveyard in Colonial Williamsburg. This church was built in 1660. There are supposedly a lot of people buried here, but back in the old days only the wealthy could afford grave markers, so a majority of the graves are unmarked. Here are a few of the more interesting things I saw there.

I'm always amazed by very old grave markers, and the work they put into them back then. It makes modern tombstones look a little plain.

305 years ago, today...

...this little fellow died. Noticed the date while walking around in a very old grave yard in Williamsburg, Virginia earlier today. I'll post some other pictures I took there a little later. There was just something special about this one.

Graveyards at Howl-O-Scream

One of my favorite parts of going to Howl-O-Scream is looking at the massive graveyards that are usually on display. This year wasn't as good, there was one pretty decent sized one, but it is usually a lot bigger (a few hundred tombstones). A lot of the stuff this year was geared towards younger kids, which explains why a lot of the tombstones are outlined with orange lights.

I think this is one of the reasons I like to have so many tombstones in my haunt. I should have close to 50 this year in all.

The Pirates of Howl-O-Scream

I'm not that big of a fan or pirates at Halloween, sometimes I feel like they are overdone, but these were some of the pictures I took of some pirates at Busch Gardens. I wish I had all those skeletons... they wouldn't be pirates anymore I can tell you that. Nothing against anyone who uses a pirate theme, I like looking at them, but I just don't want to do one. At least not right now anyway.

Tree Ghosts at Howl -O-Scream

These were a few of the tree ghosts I saw at Howl-O-Scream in Williamsburg over this past weekend. Some of these were lit up at night and really looked good then, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that. They were everywhere and made me wish that I had some big trees in my yard to hang some from.

Howl-O-Scream

I probably won't be posting anything for a couple of days because we are going to the Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA this weekend. It's supposed to rain all weekend also, so hopefully we'll get to see some stuff anyway. The rain might be a good thing, maybe it won't be so crowded. I'll post some pictures when we get back if we have any good ones.
