The Haunted Trail: 2009

I got to visit another one of my favorite local haunts on Halloween this past year, "The Haunted Trail". This haunt is located a couple of miles from where I live, and a lot of hard work goes into it. Unfortunately, I didn't get any nighttime shots of it, which would have really looked great. The owners were nice enough to keep it up and running until our haunt had shut down for the night, so that my wife and I could take a walk through in the dark. It featured the 50' long tunnel from last year, but also added a long section of trail that went through the woods where another tunnel was found along with loads of other props. It was awesome! Once again, good job Pam!

Looking forward to next year, when some familiar Grim Hollow props might be in the ranks of The Haunted Trail!

Grim Hollow 2009: The Darkest Hour

These were all taken the night of November 1st. All of these props were left outside overnight while we received 2 to 3 inches of rain, and they held up pretty good for not being sealed or anything like that. I have some pictures from Halloween night that didn't come out nearly as good, I'll post some of those later. I am so glad I decided to leave the display up for one extra day so that I could get some decent pictures... I usually break it all down on Halloween night so that on the morning of November 1st, all appears to be back to normal.

Procrastinating

So here it is a week into February, and I am already behind on my "one prop a month" plan that I was trying to do. I am starting to get that urge to build things again, but still need to finish organizing my garage/workshop. I don't know what it is, but before I can start any project everything has to be organized and in it's place. Once that is done, I get really motivated and proceed to start work and mess up the shop again in the process. It's just one of the peculiar things that goes on in this life of mine.

I am looking forward to future scenes like this one in the shop. This is another picture of my "Grim" prop when it was under construction...

Dead Spider's Web

I know this one has been posted a few times before, but I couldn't resist putting up a little something from AranaMuerta.com. I could not believe some of these props the first time I saw them, some truly amazing work. The creator of these works has a really cool Etsy shop as well. I have got to get some of those little bottles she has for sale.

I love the little details like this hair growing out of this wart.

Another addictive website and Etsy Shop for some of your Halloween "needs".

Drop Gallow

Wanted to post some of the props from Drop Gallow's 2008 display. I had been looking forward to seeing these for some time, but was delayed from posting them (along with anything else) for the last couple of weeks. Some terrific and truly inspiring props can be found on the Drop Gallow Website.

Dave the Dead's Haunt

Johnny, over at Through the Patch posted some pics from "Dave the Dead" a while back and I couldn't resist re-posting this haunt. This is some excellent work and I would love to see more pictures of this very creepy looking display.

Check out more great pictures here.
