Grim Hollow 2010

Here are a few pictures I took last night, I'm sure I'll have lots more right after Halloween.

The Inside of a Groundbreaker

Someone asked Pumpkinrot on his blog how he made the ribcages for his groundbreakers and it reminded me that I wanted to post a picture of what the ones I make look like under the "skin". This one was probably my favorite so far, it's no Pumpkinrot groundbreaker, but I thought it came out o.k. I'm looking forward to making a few more of these this year.

I basically took advice from Rot and used SpookyBlue's Tutorial to learn how to make these.

More Frost Pictures

I couldn't resist going out this morning and taking a few more pictures. Everything looked so cool with the frost on it and I didn't know if I would get the chance to take any pictures like this again. I have been leaving my groundbreaker corpses outside for about the last week or so and so far so good. I only take them up if it is supposed to rain. I forgot the other night that it was supposed to rain and had to jump out of bed at four o'clock in the morning to run outside in the rain and move them to the porch. I bet that would have been funny to see, and my neighbors would worry about me just a little bit more. It had just started raining so they didn't really get soaked... I'm just lucky that I heard the rain start. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend leaving these outside, I'm just a risk taker and will rebuild them if I have to.

Group Photo

Took a group photo yesterday of all the groundbreakers I've made so far this year. I also wanted to post a link to the tutorial on SpookyBlue's page that I used to figure out how to make these since I often get questions about how I made them. There are lots of other great tutorials and a pretty cool blog on his page too... and he has a sense of humor that is unrivaled.

A Couple of New Corpses

I finished these guys up today, numbers six and seven. I thought they turned out a lot better than my first couple of attempts at making groundbreaker corpses, which has me thinking about re-doing the first two. (Maybe I'll just camouflage my bad work with some "freaky fabric" or something.) Hopefully I'll have about three or four more built over the next couple of weeks.

Corpses

I know this isn't the best picture, but this is the view I have every morning when I pull into the garage after work. I always have to stand there a minute and look up at them and imagine what I will do differently on the next ones. I still need to make at least four more before Halloween, that will give me ten in all. I'd like to make more than that if I have the time, but I have so many other things to do in a short amount of time.

Sixth Groundbreaker Complete

Didn't have much time to make a post today because I was finishing this guy.

I would have posted a better pic, but I'm not 100% happy with the paint yet. I'll probably post a big "family picture" with what I have so far after I finish one or two more.

I'll probably be working 12 hour shifts all this weekend to earn a little extra cash for an upcoming trip, so I might not be posting anything for a couple of days... I'll try my best to put something up though!

Mad

Oh admit it... you would be too.
